EMILIANO SALCI and BRITT MORAN: HOTEL SAINT MARC PARIS
Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran founded DIMORESTUDIO in 2003. Since that moment, they have designed and carried out every project in a distinctly recognizable way: objects created by historical design masters live together with reclaimed materials and other “bespoke” objects to create and forge a particular atmosphere – a timeless visual and emotional pathway.
The crowning masterpiece of Salci and Moran Hotel Saint Marc Paris is an uncensored aesthetic treasure where each item has its own power and expressive “raison d’être”, while representing a part of an unforgettable interior experience. With a charm and a timeless sensibility that is unmistakably Parisian, Hotel Saint Marc welcomes the wearily traveller with luxurious memories and dreams.
“A language inspired by a set of emotional alchemies made of unexpected choices, preservation, inventions, appreciation of prints, lights, lacquers and oxidations.”
KIT KEMP: ONE DENMAN PLACE
Tim and Kit Kemp are the owners of Firmdale Hotels with eight boutique hotels in London and one in New York. The high standards of excellence and unique townhouse style of decoration have over the years added up to a winning combination. Kit Kemp has designed the interiors of each hotel in her unique personal way, reflecting a fresh, modern English style and inspiration.
“Hotels should be living things not stuffy institutions.”
In the midst of Soho and on the edge of Mayfair, One Denman Place in London has a distinctly urban village feel. It comprises 24 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments situated within the recently opened Ham Yard Hotel. Each apartment immaculately presented with beautiful detailing including fabric-covered walls, bespoke furniture, Boffi kitchens and marble bathrooms. And if that is not enough, One Denman Place revolves around Ham Yard Village, a leafy tree-filled garden with a bronze sculpture centrepiece by Tony Cragg.
KELLY HOPPEN: HOTEL MURMURI
As an independent 16-year-old with a relentless passion for design, Kelly Hoppen was given the opportunity to design a family friend’s kitchen. This modest commission kickstarted one of the most celebrated and extraordinary careers in the design industry. She puts her stamp on the homes, yachts and jets of private clients, as well as many commercial projects the world over, including hotels, bars, restaurants, yachts, offices, aircraft and tower blocks.
“A home should be where you feel joy and happiness. It should feel like your own space, reflective of the spirit, life and loves of the people who live there.”
Our favourite of her projects, Hotel Murmuri in Barcelona is a testament to Kelly’s ever-evolving style, underpinned by a subtle coordinated fusion of East meets West; clean lines and neutral tones, blended with charming warmth and sumptuous opulence. Every room and corner of this beautiful hotel is a feast for the design lovers of every taste.
