06 Mar Jaime Hayon: Featured Designer, Dreamer and Funny Guy
Jaime Hayon is a Spanish artist-designer who studied industrial design in Madrid and Paris. He has dedicated himself fully to his personal projects and namesake studio since 2003 and has joined the ranks of the most acclaimed creators worldwide.

Hayon’s artisan skills and his inherent creativity have allowed the man to push the boundaries of many mediums and functions, with his own brand of light-hearted functionality.
Hayon’s concern for the conservation of craft skills has joined his path with high-end traditional companies concerned with the evolution of their work in exclusive collections. His singular vision was first fully exposed in “Mediterranean Digital Baroque” at London’s David Gill Gallery, followed by many exhibitions and installations set up in major galleries and museums worldwide: Vivid Gallery, Mak Vienna, Groninger Museum, Aram Gallery, London’s Design Museum, Mudac Museum, Gallery Thomas in Munich, Walker art center, Centre Pompidou, as well as the Basel Art Fair, to name a few, attracting the attention of prestigious art collectors worldwide. Today Jamie’s works are in the permanent collections of some of these institutions.
DON’T MISS: The Wallpaper!
Aside from a delectable collection of furnishings, decorative objects, and art pieces, you must also check out Hayon’s “Primitive Rolls” wallpaper designs. The basis for “Primitive Roll” is the most fundamentally simple elements in drawing: the line, the point, the curve and the shape. The pattern appears when you take a step back and see how the components fit together to form figures that we all relate to in our different, individual ways. It is an unexpectedly simple, yet impactful effect that cannot be ignored.
