As North America’s premiere home and lifestyle trade show, NY Now offers a sneak peak at what’ll be filtering to the retail scene in the months and year to come. We browsed one of our favourite sections, Accent on Design for NY Now highlights to share with our readers. Accent on Designshowcases innovative, design-led products, including home furnishings, textiles, tabletop pieces and gourmet housewares and giftware.

Some of our favourite NY Now Accent on Design highlights included:

Tiny Frey’s artful modern resin housewares

Danish interior design house Ferm Living’s

Canvas Home’s sustainably produced – and beautiful – hand-dyed pillows, and luxe tufted velvet chesterfields and sofas

Perennial fave Jonathon Adler’s quirky-urbane living room furniture and boldly patterned tableware

Atipico’s mid century-mod metal and wood tables, and lab-inspired glassware

Danish design firm Menu’s Scando-cool, organic-influenced felt tableware (a felt bread basket? Yes and über chic!), wood cutting boards and stone spice jars.

That’s just a bit of what we loved best. It can be a challenge to stay focused because there’s simply so much to take in NY Now–we often feel like it’s Christmas in July (well, August, actually) – but the show is a must for those of us privileged to work in the exciting design industry.
